about my stage reviews

Thank you for stopping by.

A few notes about mechanics. I both pay for tickets and receive reviewer comps. In general I post reviews on or after dates requested by press representatives. The dates of the performance engagement listed on my reviews reflect the formal opening date through the end of the scheduled engagement, to be best of my knowledge, unless otherwise specified. The date of the performance I have seen (usually a press performance prior to opening but sometimes a date after opening) is displayed at the end of listed general descriptive information and before my review text.  And because this is a blog over which I have complete control, I may tweak the wording of an inelegantly phrased thought after an entry’s original posting, but I shall resist altering in any individual post my subjective reactions-in-the-moment to a particular performance or piece of writing or whatever it is I choose to analyze.

Let us give ourselves over to the romance of the enterprise. Feel the exquisite anticipation of a show about to begin. In the hush between house lights down and stage lights up, thrill to what might happen — poised before the possibilities.
